I would love to know where you found or how you did the lights i have a order requiring lights and its killing me i can't find anything and the cake is for may 20th 2012! Please please help!! Janeyethoughtfulcreations@gmail.com
Awesome cake! Where did you find the lights? I'm going to attempt to make a Monster Truck cake and never thought of adding the lights! What do you charge to do one like this? kimnormjr@msn.com
I found the small battery-operated lights in the wedding section at Michaels (craft store). they are the type that you twist to turn them on and off. I attached them with small guage wire to dowel rods painted brown. then I hand-made the 'lamp shades' from gumpaste also colored brown. I simply stuck the light posts in the cake and the lights could be turned on for the party. Thanks for looking:)
Chris this is absolutely a wonderful cake. You did an awesome job. My twin grandson's birthday is Aug. 6 and their birthday party is Aug.3. We have bought their first 3 birthday cakes, but he thinks I can make this cake (The Monster Truck) like yours. I'm scared to death. I haven't decorated a cake in YEARS! It's to late to order one. Their father and stepmom are making them a Monster Truck cake also. I have cried and cried. My grandson's LOVE and I mean love these trucks. Their father carried them to a Rally. I need help what size pan did you use, just everything. I know you are very busy andd don't have time for me, who am I kidding? Sorry to bother you. Thanks!
